Our Vision
Can you imaging being pregnant, away from your home, family, and everything that is familiar to you? Arriving to a country where you do not speak the language, where the culture is foreign, and where your basic needs may not be met? Receiving care from a medical system that does not value the same cultural practices as you? Being vulnerable to the decisions of medical providers who do not speak your language?
Beginnings Refugee Birth Support serves pregnant refugee women, walking along side them throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Birth is a vulnerable time for many women and can be empowering or invalidating depending on the support they have. Without adequate support and resources, refugee women are at an increased risk of complications, cesarean sections, and difficulty in the postpartum period. It is our vision to eventually equip refugee women to join our team of childbirth educators and doulas!
Beginnings Refugee Birth Support was founded to extend God's love to the under-served. We provide care to women of all religions, cultures, and nations and welcome volunteers of all faiths and backgrounds.

Services
Our vision is to support women throughout the entire journey of bringing a new baby into the world, not just during pregnancy. Our pregnancy circle is a place where women can learn about birth in America, their birth options, and how to prepare for their birth experience. During their prenatal period, women are paired up with doulas who attend a few prenatal appointments with the women and provide the labor and birth support. Doulas are key in providing continuity of care, a safe and familiar face during birth, and on-going support. Our Mom and Baby Group is a safe place for new moms to come together and receive support during the postpartum period.
